California Coast Trekkers are Enjoying the Pacific Beaches

Today the group woke up at our campsite in Carpinteria and ate English Muffins with various toppings such as cream cheese, peanut butter, jelly, honey, and butter. Early after our departure, we discovered a donut shop named Tyler's Donuts! Stopping to pick up a dozen was indeed essential. After a couple hours of biking along the coast, we munched on donuts at a lovely spot next to the beach which had a view of the Channel Islands off in the distance. We met two other bike tourers today, both who were doing the entire Pacific Coast trail from Vancouver to the Mexican border. The group picked up groceries and ate lunch at a sunny spot on the beach in Ventura. Oranges were the favorite fruit of the day. The afternoon was challenging as the route was a bit complicated. Luckily our trusted point, Jared, successfully led us to our campsite. We also stopped at a missile exhibit beside a naval base. The campsite tonight couldn't be any more spectacular. Our tents are pitched on soft sand right beside the ocean. Jared and Dan are cooking dinner, Alex and Russel are making a campfire. Everyone is excited for dessert - banana boats (bananas filled with marshmallows and chocolate and toasted on the campfire)!
