Hey teen trekkers! I’m Will from Syracuse, NY. I am really excited to hit the road with you this summer! My first bike tour from Virginia to the Oregon coast was an unforgettable adventure and I know we will have some similar amazing experiences. Going by bike lets you experience your environment as it goes by and is absolutely one of the most rewarding ways to travel. I have been lucky enough to travel in the U.K., the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Morocco, and Peru and hope to continue exploring as much as possible. In addition to biking; I enjoy skiing, rock climbing, backpacking, sitting around a campfire, and sharing experiences with good friends. I am excited to lead such energetic and motivated individuals. While at Syracuse University I assisted in running developmental biology labs for high school students and was active in teaching outdoor skills to students in the Outing Club. I can’t wait for the exploration to begin and to feel our tires grip into the open road. See you all soon!

Welcome New Leader and Former Trekker - JONAH

Greetings Trekkers! My name’s Jonah, and I hail from Amesbury, a small town 30 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. I think cycling is the best way to see the world! You go slow enough to notice details you would miss in a car, and get an incredible sense of satisfaction watching the miles ticking up on your odometer. I have biked in Alaska, California, Ireland, and all over the Pioneer Valley, where I went to college at UMass Amherst. When I was 15, I did my first bike tour from New York City to Montreal with Teen Treks. Since then, I have spent my free time outdoors hiking, skiing, SCUBA diving, and of course bicycling! I have worked as a ski instructor, a camp counselor and a peer tutor at school, and I’m super excited to get back on the road this summer before I start graduate school at Columbia University in the fall.
If you’ve never been on a bike tour, you’re in for some of the funnest, most memorable weeks of your life. If you’re coming back for another trip, I can’t wait to hear your stories!

Welcome New Trip Leader - LIZA

Hello Teen Trekkers! I’m Liza and I grew up on on the North Shore of Massachusetts in a small town called West Newbury. I am an avid outdoor adventurer and I am thrilled to have my first summer with TeenTreks this year! I am so excited to travel by bike in the great outdoors. One of the best trips I have been on was a thirty day trip where I hiked in national parks all around the western United States, including parks in Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, California, and Nevada. I have also traveled with family and friends to France, England, Italy, Spain, and just last year to Iceland. I teach Zumba where I go to school at UMass Amherst, and in my free time I like to write, read, craft, play pick up sports, learn new things, and listen to or make music. I can’t wait to have lots of laughs on the road and experience new places with you!

Introducing Trip Leaders for 2017 - KOBY

What’s up cyclists?! I’m Koby from Philadelphia, PA. I feel most at home on a bicycle, waking up in new and exciting places each day. Community is incredibly important to me and I’m psyched to share in my love of travel in a wonderful group of fellow bikers! I’ve backpacked many places in the US NE and SW and some in SE Asia. I’ve bike toured all over, most notably from Portland OR to Los Angeles (and a trip when I was 16 around Lake Ontario with Teen Treks!). I love nature, writing, playing Frisbee, making movies, meditating, playing music, and exploring. I’ve directed teens in theater and coached them in Frisbee, and recently started helping them ease into community norms as an orientation leader at Hampshire College. I love school, but I always feel like it’s been too long since last time I was on the road. I can’t wait to roam with y’all!

Teen Treks 2017 Season - Be Adventurous!

Welcome to the Teen Treks Blog.  We are excited to be starting our 17th season!

Have you been out on your bike?

The Teen Treks staff was biking all winter with adventures in Southern California, the Gulf Coast of Florida, the Atlantic Coast of Florida and Cuba.

Now we're focused on our summer Teen Treks and many trips are filling up or are full.

We can't wait to be biking on the Pacific Northwest Trek, the Maine Coast Trek, the European Phantom Trek or the ultimate Across America Trek. AND we look forward to having you come ride with us this summer!
