New England Shore Trekkers make it to Block Island

Today, we woke up in our hotel rooms especially early to get a head start on our long trek of 43 miles, the longest we’ve biked. We packed our gear and ate the hotel breakfast. Finally, we hit the road and biked 10 miles to a Cumberland Farms to get food for our lunch and refill our water bottles. Then, we cycled another 15 miles and took a lunch break. After, a group went around 10 miles to supply the group with food for Block Island. The rest of the bikers then went and met them there. Together, we biked the final segment of our trip to the ferry for Block Island. We unloaded our bikes and cargo and waited on the hour long boat ride. When we arrived to the island, we biked 1 mile to our camp site and set up camp. Then, we swam at the beach, ate hotdogs and salad for dinner, and watched early Fourth of July fireworks. After a long, tiring day, we headed back to the camp site and prepared for a good night’s sleep.
