Welcome New Trip Leader: JENNA
Hi Teen Trekkers! My name is Jenna and I'm from midcoast Maine. I'm so excited
to hit the road this summer and see some beautiful sights by bicycle! Back in
high school I did the Across America Trek with Teen Treks and had a BLAST, and
I've been hooked on bike touring ever since! I lived and traveled in India for a
year before college, and I've explored Europe and some of the most beautiful
National Parks in the U.S. Last summer I led a bike trip for teens from
Amsterdam to Paris, and I can't wait to see where this summer will take us! When
I'm not on my bike, I like skiing, contradancing, hiking, camping, gardening,
singing acapella, sharing stories with friends, and being a goofball. I
volunteer as a Peer Health Educator at my college, and I love working with young
people around topics of wellness, identity, and healthy relationships. I can't
wait to meet y'all and share some great adventures!!

Introducing Trip Leaders for 2016: MAX
Hi, I'm Max and I'm a Spanish teacher/camp counselor from Palo Alto, California. I've traveled by bike in New England, Catalonia, and down the west coast. I like reading science fiction, dancing to Ska music, and sleeping under the stars. The only thing better than a day on the bike is a day on the bike followed by a screening of the 1997 classic Con Air. I'm psyched to lead some amazing treks this summer! Keep on pedalin'!
"Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world. It gives women a feeling of freedom and self-reliance. I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel…the picture of free, untrammeled womanhood" - Susan B. Anthony.

Introducing Trip Leaders for 2016: EMILY
HIIII!!! My name is Emily and I am from the rainy west coast city of Portland, Oregon. This summer is going to be so much fun. Two of the things I am most passionate about are working with youth and riding my bicycle so, needless to say, I can’t wait to start. Growing up in a big city, I didn’t learn how to drive for many years, so I learned at a young age to rely on and love my bike. I went on my first bike tour a few years ago in Montana for 3 days and fell in love with traveling in this way. I then bicycled all over Montana and spent last winter exploring New Zealand by bicycle. It was awesome! Empowering! Beautiful!
Other than bicycling, I love to go hiking, backpacking, camping, and all other types of exploring! I also love to drink coffee, cook, and eat lots of food. But really, my favorite thing to do is laugh and connect with other people. I’ve worked with youth in various capacities throughout my life and am currently a high school mentor at a residential outdoor education program. I can’t wait for the summer, the sunshine, to explore new places, and meet all of you!
