Lake Ontario Trekkers Discover Canadian Poutine

It was an epic day of biking, the group rode a hefty 40 miles in the sweltering heat and humidity. We met up with a fellow group of bikers who were riding for HIV Community Services in Toronto.  They were riding to Montreal. We broke bread at their finish line, but we quickly dispersed from that area because we had nine miles left. Then half of our group rode right by the "X-treme French Fry stand," but the rest of us stopped for our first Poutine (french fries with gravy and cheese curds) First of all the Poutine was on point. I "John Lunch" can solemnly swear that that was one of the best Teen Treks snacks I have ever had. And that is my lunch promise! Once we got to the campsite we went to the beach and played competitive volleyball against older people. We were able to win one of three games because of Lunch's performance up front [and everywhere else]. We ended the day with pita pizzas which went well and we didn't spill any ;)

State #5 for the Across America Trekkers

7/19- We started our day by riding into the Crow Indian Reservation where we made our way to the Little Bighorn Battlefield. We took a nice long lunch break just outside the battlefield, where we spent over an hour pouring over the Custer Battlefield Trading Post's gift shop and resting inside the brightly colored teepees on their lawn. We picked ourselves up and spent the day riding along the scenic frontage road, where we stopped for tuna fish wraps by the river. Ever on the pursuit for water (as we've been traveling along beautiful back roads), we stopped later in the day in Wyola where we were warmly helped by the Native American community. We were pleasantly surprised when one little boy took out his parakeets to play with us!! Branton, Katie, and Tyler were thrilled having the birds climb all over them. We kept on riding into the early evening and swiftly made it into our fifth state: WYOMING!!  We ended up camping on Connor Battlefield campground in Ranchester with smiles on our faces and feeling victorious.
